On Saturday 14th January, enjoyed visiting some of the region's finest gull watching sites - Fraserburgh and Peterhead - with Chris. Lots of activity around the fish processing plants attracted lots of gulls, resulting in a day total of 15 different 'white-wingers'. These are some of the birds seen during the day. Remarkably, the huge influx of Iceland Gulls into the Northern Isles (over 150 birds on Shetland over the weekend) consists mainly of second-winter birds (and older) with very few first-winters recorded. This is being mirrored in North East Scotland.
